Monday 16th
Boris & Arabrot – Gorilla (Manchester) – 7:30pm
Dose of heavy: Japan’s drone/doom/sludge/noise trio of lore BORIS come through to a medium-sized venue along with Norway’s Arabrot in tow. As one of the motivations behind much-lauded PMS detuned faves Sunn 0))), Boris are amplifier worshippers of the highest order.

Hosted by BlackFest, the Live Lounge showcases poetry and lyricism in a comfortable setting.

Peach Fuzz – Cavern Club – 8pm
BBC Merseyside’s Dave Monks holds the final BBC Introducing… Liverpool night of the year with a triplet of interesting Merseyside-based guitar groups: the Peach Fuzz, who deal in frazzled post-punk; country-tinged tongue-in-cheek of Kangaroos; and Stratocaster-slinging singer/songwriter Pixey. Free entry – but sign up using the skiddle link.

Friday 20th
Flying Luttenbachers – Kazimier Stockroom – 8pm
Weasel Walter’s pulverising, tamed-chaos, drum-led jazz/metal/noise project now contains saxophonist Matt Nelson, bassist Tim Dahl, and guitarist Alex Ward, providing deranged, non-linear intensity with the fast and detailed sound of latest offering Shattered Dimension (their first recording in 12 years) making for the nexus of this tour. A complete spread of local and otherwise talent acts as the supporting cast: Jezebel of Mal and Lonesaw debuts solo material for computer, electronics and brass; Yossarians journey over from Manchester to provide one-dynamic fun.

House for the Homeless – 24 Kitchen Street – 8pm
Insatiable disco enthusiast James Morgan invites folk in for the last 8 hours of a 24-hour-long stretch of DJing raising funds for the Whitechapel Centre and Crisis. Good guy, great cause.

Saturday 21st
Andy Stott, Demdike Stare, Micachu – The White Hotel (Salford) – 23:59…
Another triple hit from team TWH and Project 13. UK hard techno is beyond reprieve when it comes to Andy Stott; veritable national treasure, composer and producer Micachu provides a DJ set; the grim M62-centred post-club extrapolations of Demdike Stare arguably provide the focus of the night – though at what cost to the body clock.

Looking ahead: NYE / 31st December
The Final New Year’s Eve – Constellations – 9pm
Crazy P Sound System heads up the last party at the beloved Greenland Street venue, one that has seen myriad developments come and go in the surrounding area of the Baltic Triangle in Liverpool, so shed a tear as the wonderful Constellations opens and shuts shop for good – but not without bright plans for round the corner. Melodic Distraction family provide the backbone of supporting DJ duties.
