Sunday 20th
The a.P.A. t. T. Orchestra – Unsilent Night @ Palm House 3.45pm
Unsilent Night is an original composition by Phil Kline, written specifically to be heard outdoors in the month of December. It takes the form of a outdoor promenade in which the audience becomes the performer. Each participant brings one of four tracks of music in the form of a cassette, CD, or Mp3. Together all four tracks comprise Unsilent Night. The fact that the participants play different "parts" simultaneously helps create the special sound of the piece. Participants carry boomboxes, phones, or anything that amplifies music, and simultaneously start playing the music. They then walk a carefully chosen route, creating a unique mobile sound sculpture which is different from every listener's perspective. Since 1992, it has been presented in 101 cities and four continents.

Our performance will begin in Liverpool's Sefton Park Palm House, at the end of their free concert on the afternoon of Sunday 20th December. The piece will then move into the park, taking a circular route before ending back outside the Palm House. The piece is 45 minutes long.

You are invited to join us either to participate or to listen. There is no charge, and the more the merrier, so please spread the word. Children more than welcome.
If you would like to participate, please download one of the 4 parts and bring along a battery-powered, self-amplified device to play it. We'll make it clear on the day when to press play! Dress warm!
More information about the piece and links to the downloads can be found on the official Unsilent Night website here:
