Bluecoat - Suki Chan: CONSCIOUS
Suki Chan is a critically-acclaimed artist and filmmaker whose work uses moving image, photography, and sound to explore our perception of reality. CONSCIOUS brings together different perspectives from scientists and ordinary people which shake up our preconceptions about individual and collective consciousness. Within her wider study of consciousness and perception, the artist worked with people living with dementia to explore how memory loss can destabilise our understanding of the present, while opening up other realities. The exhibition includes photography, sculpture, virtual reality and three films. Dates: 12th March - 12th June

Bluecoat: Where The Arts Belong: Making Sense (Of It All)
As part of Bluecoat’s ongoing project Where the Arts Belong, leading visual artists, writers, storytellers, dancers, musicians and composers have worked creatively with people living with dementia on a wide range of artistic activities. While experienced at working with others, this was the first time each artist had worked in a dementia setting. They have been on this mutually supportive journey with Bluecoat’s Participation team, led by artist and facilitator Tabitha Moses. Starting in 2019 and continuing into 2022, the artists have navigated the emergence of Covid 19, while remaining dedicated to working with the residents, staff and families of North West Belong Villages. An additional sister strand We Belong Together was also developed to help tackle the isolation brought on by lockdowns for older people. Dates: 12th March - 12th June

18th March: Leisure Land @ IWF 9pm
The Invisible Wind Factory’s latest concept - Leisure Land - is a night out with games, arcades, kazimier style, and the chance to sing karaoke with a live band. Plus there will be live appearances from Dogshow, Twindependent Women, Social Hours and Eris.
