Mugstar: Ad Marginem – Philharmonic Music Room – 8pm
A chance to catch a screening and live scoring of the film written and directed by Liam Yates, and soundtracked by the city’s own “well-lit men on a shadowy planet”, knights of repetition-led psych, Mugstar.

A post-exam party from Liverpool Uni’s Feminist Society, this second round of Exhibitchin’ promises a night of hits by female-identifying performers, played over the powerful 24KS soundsystem to raise money for much-needed Merseyside charity RASA.

Lauryna Sableviciute – Piano Music from The Baltics – Capstone Theatre – 7:30pm
‘Lauryna is a true advocate of Contemporary Music and is actively involved in promoting new works from around the world. For example, she has recently spent a significant amount of time recording the complete piano music of Cecil Coles, a Scottish composer who died in World War I. This recording will be released on vinyl in 2018, commemorating 100 years since his death and the end of the First World War.
Lauryna’s love for her own country, Lithuania, is present in many of her solo performances and this evening’s concert will be no exception. For Piano Music from the Baltics she will be blending two very different (yet both very close to her heart) programmes featuring composers of the Baltics such as Ciurlionis, Vasks and Pärt alongside laying a platform for new works by Liverpool Hope University composers such as Ian Percy, Robin Hartwell, James Wishart and others.’

Saturday 10th
Montero, Danye, Seatbelts, The Wools – Shipping Forecast – 7:30pm
“Shmoopy pop” from globetrotters and locals alike, down in the Hold of the Slater Street bar-cum-venue. Soulful, bendy sounds from Liverpool-based post-disco fourpiece Danye certainly worth a watch.

Looking ahead:
RoS 001: Kaio frum NW, Alec Tronik, Lucaufer, Bryn, Lodge – The Well – 9pm
Soft, sombre sonics of singer-producers like Kaio and Lucaufer rub shoulders with the harsh, harder club sounds from Alec Tronik and Bryn in this Roscoe Lane gallery space. Be prepared for a varid evening of beatless, sparse ambience through to industrial, globally-informed electronic rhythms.
