Monday
Lord Huron + Malena Zavala
Great Lakes-inspired songsmithery from Ben Schneider + band, known for soundtracking the end titles and closing credits on various alt-y US TV series (Shameless reboot, Community, Girls, 13 Reasons Why… etc.)

Tuesday
Sambrosa Allstars: The Buena Vista – 24 Kitchen Street – 7pm
This assemblage of Sambroso Noda / London Jazz Café all-stars will perform Buena Vista Social Club’s classic Tropical Latin Cuban Jazz album in its entirety.

Wednesday (Halloween)
Psycho (Film with Live Orchestra) – Philharmonic Hall – 7:30pm
Sync points aplenty as the Hitchcock slash-sterpiece is dementedly revivified by the RLPO.

Culture Club – Output – 5pm
One-hour discussion and social for all things pop culture takes place in this still-new Seel Street gallery space.

Blade Blood Rave – Brick Street – 9pm
No-Wave's DJ team are keen to re-create the iconic ‘bass in the place’ scene from the most 1990s of vampire films at this Baltic area venture from some of the team behind the final incarnation of Hardman Street staple The Magnet. Red sauce included. 'Horrible' music policy promised. Address is 44 Brick Street.

Thursday
Seatbelts / Brick House / FLIZZ / Samurai Kip – Handyman Pub – 8pm
Four locally sourced independent music makers in the back of this Smithdown establishment.

Friday
Kagoule / Elevant / Wife – EBGBs – 7:30pm
Tip-top 4AD type indie brilliance from this Notts trio, plus ’90 Seattle scene sounding skyscrapers (and event organisers) Elevant, and WIFE.

Homotopia Festival 2018 Launch – Hinterlands – 8pm
Running until 1st December - do check out the full programme for this vital cultural calendar highlight that this year includes appearances from such luminaries as Jinx Monsoon, John Waters, and Travis Alabanza. Vital!:
www.homotopia.net

Juan Martin - The Brindley (Runcorn) - 7:30pm
Flamenco guitar mastery at this near-enough purpose built theatre

Saturday
Bar Stool Preachers, Capitalist Kids, Down and Outs, Aerial Salad – Outpost – 8pm
Eric’s ’77 presents “without doubt one of the most exciting bands in the UK right now” (BSP), plus touring Americans CKs, held together by darlings of the older school of Merseyside punk rock thought D&Os, and the far-flung sounding Aerial Salad. Happening in the spot that used to house Maguire’s Pizza on Renshaw Street, Outpost (new name for said venue) are honouring all previously-scheduled gigs – and taking on plenty more in their own right. Great news for local live music!

Emotion Wave with Chemistry Lane, Fisherman Swilbert, Prof Khaos – 81 Renshaw – 8pm
Neil Grant taking it back to the best spot for hand-made electronica featuring an ultra-varied array of styles out-the-box (and in).

Ladytron, Stealing Sheep, Haarm – o2 Acad – 7pm
Liverpool's synth-pop lineage expressed in three iterations here, as the locally-raised four-piece Ladytron headline a very rare hometown appearance; Stealing Sheep re-affirm their hold on their own mould of contemporary power trio electronica; and Haarm bring us up to date as a super-group of familiar faces.

50 Years of Trojan night – Brick Street – 2pm
Dub and reggae all-day mini-festival from the team behind Positive Vibration.

The End is Nigh – North Shore Troubadour – 9:30pm
All manner of electronic mayhem/fun/cultivated chaos in this North Docks hot spot. Prepare for fast BPMs.

Look-Ahead
Thursday 8th Nov: Organ Freeman, Loka, etc. for Deep Cuts – Jacaranda Records Phase One – 7pm

Tuesday 22nd Jan 2019: J Mascis – Arts Club
